Blog spot: Sticky Fingers
Tara Cain author of Sticky Fingers’ blog shares some of her experiences of being a mum and tells us more about the world of blogging.

Hi there

My name is Tara Cain and I have been a ‘mummy blogger’ for nearly 2 years.
I was first asked to set up a parenting blog when I worked on a regional newspaper and agreed as I thought it would take me an hour or so a week. Little did I know what lay ahead for me.

I knew nothing of blogs or blogging and so started from scratch and learned everything through trial and error. But what surprised me the most, was the amazing community of men and women out there – parents who I wished I had ‘met’ when I was pregnant with my own two children.

I read every book, magazine and parenting article I could lay my hands on when I was expecting my children. I watched every TV show and drank up information. For me, knowledge was power.

However, in all my reading I never encountered the real and raw honesty of being at the frontline of parenting until I discovered blogging.
Eventually I left the newspaper to set up in business at home as a lifestyle communications and social media consultant and found I just couldn’t give the blogging up.

So here I am, writing Sticky Fingers, sharing my family’s ups and downs, my passions, my questions, my experiences, my struggles as a parent. And if people come and visit and read a while, that’s great. If they comment and reach out to me, even better. But ultimately I write this blog for me, an online record of the amazing journey I tread every day as a mum to Daniel, 6, and Mia 4 (NB: She’s actually 4 on Sept 9).

Tara
