If you don’t have hours or a team of make-up artists hidden in your bedroom, here’s how to look great when you’re in a hurry.
We’ve all done it. The babysitter’s already arrived and the party clothes aren’t even ironed yet. Here’s a few shortcuts on your route too fabulousness…
• Keep it cool Make a five-minute shower cooler than normal so that you’re not overheated and sweaty when you get out, then slather on some body lotion to give your skin a beautiful glow.
• Get a new look in seconds The biggest change you can make to your look is to your hairstyle. If you usually wear long hair loose, consider an up do. Either a chignon or a French twist will look sensational, and if you’ve practised it a few times when you have a spare moment they are very easy to achieve in a matter of minutes. An added advantage is that they tend to work better on day old hair so you can cut out the washing and drying time.
• Keep the outfit simple but effective A stunning dress with a bold pattern and a pair of heels is the best party fabulous outfit – it takes seconds to throw on.
• Don’t attempt the Hollywood look Keep make up simple. Minimise blending time with a tinted moisturiser instead of your usual foundation. Create a strong eyebrow shape by smoothing them over with a thin sheen of Vaseline. You can make your eyes stunning with just eye liner and mascara if you’re in a hurry – the trick is to put a few brightening drops in just before you leave for last minute sparkle.
