If you don’t buy plants very often don’t forget that not all plants you buy will become annual favourites in your garden. Some pots you buy will flower, look great and then die away. ‘Perennials’ should establish themselves and offer quick rewards reappearing year after year if they are in a setting which suits them, ‘annuals’ flower and die within the year they are grown, but don’t expect ‘biennials to flower until the year after they have been planted.
